GATE application form 2026 releasing TODAY: IIT Guwahati will start GATE 2026 registrations TODAY (August 28) on the GATE’s official website- gate2026.iitg.ac.in. The registration link will be activated on the GATE candidate login 2026. The last date to submit the application form is September 28 (without late fees). Read below for more.

GATE 2026 registrations will start TODAY (August 28). Once released, candidates appearing for the exam can get the GATE 2026 registration link here on our page. The last date to submit the form is September 28 (with no late fee charges), and till October 9 (with late fee charges)

Steps to apply for the GATE 2026 application form

Applicants can check below to apply for the GATE 2026 registration form -

  • Visit the GATE’s 2026 official website - gate2026.iitg.ac.in
  • Click on the application form link and register for the exam.
  • Log in using your credentials and fill out the application form
  • Upload the documents and pay the application fees.
  • Submit the application form and keep a copy of the submitted form.

Candidates can check the GATE 2026 application status by using their enrollment ID and password. 

Eligibility Criteria for GATE 2026 Registrations

Candidates must go through the GATE 2026 eligibility criteria before filling out the GATE application form, which are as follows -

  • The nationality of the candidate must be Indian
  • Foreign nationals meeting the required eligibility are also eligible to apply for the GATE exam. 
  • Candidates must have a graduate degree in engineering /technology/science/architecture/ arts and humanities, etc., from a recognised institute or university. 
  • Candidates in their final year or pre-final year can also apply.
  • There is no age limit or attempt limit for the candidates who want to fill out the application form.

GATE 2026 Documents Checklist

Applicants must have the following documents ready before filling out the GATE online form

  • A scanned copy of the valid photo identity card
  • Scanned photo and signature
  • A scanned copy of the PwD certificate/ category/ dyslexic certificate in PDF format

Candidates applying for the GATE application form 2026 must follow the guidelines and instructions to ensure their application is accepted. IIT Guwahati will conduct the GATE exam on February 7, 8, 14, and 15, 2026, in two sessions.

Candidates can make the GATE fee payment via net banking/credit card/debit card/UPI. However, additional online transaction charges may be applicable and will be reflected on the payment portal.
