GATE Form Fill Up 2026: The IIT Guwahati have activated the GATE 2026 registration link on the official website- gate2026.iitg.ac.in. The GATE form 2026 last date is September 28 (without late fees) and October 9 (with late fees). Get complete details regarding the GATE GOAPS 2026 application process, fees, and dates below.
The GATE 2026 online application process is now available at IIT Guwahati’s GATE official website. Candidates appearing for the exam can go through the steps below on how to register for GATE 2026. Candidates who have successfully submitted the application form will be able to attempt the exam held on February 7, 8, 14, and 15.
Things to keep ready before filling the GATE 2026 application form
Before registering, candidates need to keep the following details and documents ready -
- Active mobile number and email ID
- Scanned images of a photograph, a signature, and a valid ID proof
- PwD or category certificate (if applicable)
- Educational qualification details
- University/College/Institute details

Applicants have to upload the following documents -

NOTE: No provisional document is needed at the time of filling the application form. Also, OBC-NCL and EWS candidates are required to upload any certificate while filling out the form.
GATE Form Fill Up 2026: How to register and submit?
The registration process of GATE 2026 is available online only at the GATE candidate login page/GOAPS 2026. The steps to apply can be checked below -
- First, visit the official GATE’s 2026 website - gate2026.iitg.ac.in
- Now navigate to the application form portal link
- Click on register and fill up the required details.
- After successful registration, candidates will receive an enrollment ID
- Now, create a password of 8 to 15 characters and log in using the enrollment ID and password.
- Fill out the information and upload the documents as per specifications.
- Pay the application fees and submit the form.
- Print and save a copy for future reference.
How to resize and upload the photo and signature in GATE form 2026?
To upload the photo, signature, and valid ID proof, candidates must first scan, edit, and resize as per the specifications (mentioned in the GATE image guidelines).
Applicants' photograph and signature must be recent and need to be uploaded in JPEG/JPG format. Candidates can also resize their GATE photo using MS Paint, following the steps below -
- Right-click your photo and select "Open with Paint"
- Go to the home tab and click on resize
- Select pixels for more accurate control
- Enter the required width and height as per GATE specifications.
- Lastly, click on the file and save.
While uploading the documents, be careful with the instructions, which are mentioned in the following way-
- Upload photo stands for photograph
- Upload signature stands for the candidate’s signature
- And upload photo ID stands for valid ID proof (Aadhar card/PAN card/Driving License/Voter ID)
