Govt is taking initiatives to integrate AI in higher education institutions: President
Speaking during the 70th anniversary of BIT Mesra President said that as AI rapidly transforms economies, the Government of India has been quick in responding to the emerging scenario.
President of India, Droupadi Murmu has said that ours is the age of technology. New advances in the field of information technology have changed the way we live. What was unthinkable till yesterday has become reality today.
She stated that the coming years are going to be even more dramatic with far-reaching advances expected particularly in Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning.
Speaking during the 70th anniversary of BIT Mesra President said that as AI rapidly transforms economies, the Government of India has been quick in responding to the emerging scenario. Several initiatives are being taken to integrate AI in higher education institutions.
“I am also happy to see our daughters raising the bar of excellence in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics. The enthusiasm and commitment of the youth will be the key ingredient in the making of a ‘Viksit Bharat’,” she said.

BIT MESRA offers BTech in full-time mode in UG level for the duration of 4 years. There are 10 specialisations that BIT MESRA offers in BTech with an annual intake of 960 students, all specialisations combined. Admission to BTech is offered based on valid scores of accepted entrance exams such as JEE Main. Candidates shortlisted based on the exam score must appear for the JoSAA counselling. If the seats are left vacant after this counselling, then seat allotment for BIT Mesra is carried out through CSAB.
BIT MESRA BTech fee structure includes tuition fees worth INR 13.35 Lakh. The graduates recieved an average package of INR 10.6 LPA, as per the recent placement drive.
BIT Mesra is ranked #90 in the NIRF 2024 rankings under the "Management" category. BIT Mesra MBA course-wise placements data is not available as of now. However, an overall report shows 192 companies visited its campus for the placements drive. The highest and average package offered stood at INR 51 LPA and INR 11.57 LPA, respectively. Some of the top recruiters for the institute in the recent past have been companies like Vedanta Group, Crompton Greaves Ltd., NTPC, Exide Industries, etc.
