IIIT Dharwad BTech in AI and Computing

Indian Institute of Information Technology (IIIT) Dharwad will introduce a new BTech programme in Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Computing from 2026-27 academic session. IIIT Dharwad will also launch online MTech programme in AI and Computing. Addressing press conference, IIIT Dharwad Director Prof. S.R. Mahadeva Prasanna said new BTech programme will be offered in offline mode and MTech programme will be conducted online. Together, these two courses will have an intake capacity of 85 students. Online MTech programme is being introduced under Study in India initiative to attract international learners and working professionals interested in advanced AI education.

Bridge Course for BSc, BCA Graduates at IIIT Dharwad

IIIT Dharwad’s Board of Governance has also approved bridge course for students with B.Sc Computer Science and BCA backgrounds. After completing bridge programme, eligible candidates will be able to apply for MTech admissions.

253 BTech Students Received Degrees at IIIT Dharwad

A total of 253 BTech students and two postgraduate students received their degrees during 8th IIIT Dharwad convocation. Among graduating students, 136 are from Computer Science and Engineering, 66 from Data Science and Artificial Intelligence, and 51 from Electronics and Communication Engineering.

Apart from awarding degrees, IIIT Dharwad also presented six medals, including President of India Gold Medal, the Director's Medal for Best Outgoing Girl Student, and departmental topper medals to meritorious students.
