IIIT Hyderabad Collaborates with Athenian Tech to Launch AI-Powered Cybersecurity Initiative

International Institute of Information Technology Hyderabad and Athenian Tech Private Limited have formed a partnership for betterment of students. IIIT Hyderabad collaboration with Athenian Tech aims to enhance research, education, and innovation in AI-powered cybersecurity field. With help of IIIT H's academic and research expertise and Athenian Tech's industrial experience, students will be able to learn advanced learning in cybersecurity solutions. Memorandum of Understanding between two includes research, identity protection, skill development and training programmes for students. This IIIT Hyderabad MoU with Athenian Tech will create opportunities for students willing to make their career in field of AI & ML.
MoU was signed by Prof. U Deva Priyakumar, Dean of Research & Development at IIIT Hyderabad, and Dr Kanishk Gaur, Chief Executive Officer of Athenian Tech Private Limited. partnership will help create advanced solutions and skilled professionals in cybersecurity sector at a time of increasing cybersecurity threats.
IIIT Hyderabad and Athenian Tech Partnership: What to Expect?
Collaboration between IIIT Hyderabad and Athenian Tech will work on multiple areas of AI, machine learning, cybersecurity, and digital identity protection. Initiative will include:
- Joint AI and ML cybersecurity courses
- Skill development and training programmes
- Workshops and interactions
- Research collaboration and innovation
Speaking on partnership, Prof. U Deva Priyakumar said India has built strong digital infrastructure, but now needs equal focus on securing it. He added that cybersecurity powered by AI and ML is one of most important challenges today.
Meanwhile, Athenian Tech CEO Dr Kanishk Gaur said cyber threats are evolving rapidly, and organisations are finding it difficult to manage growing attack surface. He highlighted threats such as ransomware, identity theft, financial fraud, cryptojacking, and advanced persistent threats.
