IISc Bangalore BTech Admission 2026 via JoSAA; 3 New Courses on Offer
JoSAA 2026 counselling process is set to start today, June 2, at 5 PM. For the first time, IISc Bangalore will also join the national-level centralised counselling process for seat allotment across its 4 BTech programmes. Check details below.
IISc Bangalore BTech Admission 2026 via JoSAA; 3 New Courses on Offer
Indian Institute of Science (IISc) will be participating in JoSAA 2026 for the first time. Additionally, the Institute will offer a total of 4 BTech courses this year, of which three have been newly launched. The three new BTech courses are BTech Aerospace Engineering, BTech Materials Science and Engineering and BTech Mechanics and Computing. These programmes will be on offer from the 2026 - 27 session.
The fourth already existing BTech courses that will be available for offer are BTech in Mathematics and Computing. This course has been running at IISc Bangalore since 2022.

IISc Bangalore BTech Admission 2026 via JoSAA
IISc Bangalore will allot seats to the candidates via the JoSAA counselling process on the basis of JEE Advanced 2026 ranks. Until last year, the Institute used to conduct its individual admission process for admission to its only BTech course - Mathematics and Computing.
However, with a total of four BTech courses on offer this year, IISc Bangalore has joined the JoSAA counselling process this year onwards.
The eligibility for admission to BTech courses based on JoSAA counselling is as follows:
- Candidates must satisfy the eligibility requirements, including performance in the Class XII (or equivalent) examination, as prescribed in the JoSAA (Joint Seat Allocation Authority) Business Rules for admission to IITs, applicable for the relevant academic year.
Selection and admission:
- Admission to all four BTech courses at IISc shall be through JoSAA 2026. No separate application is required to be submitted on the IISc admission portal.
