The IISc has issued a condolence note expressing profound sadness at Pawar's passing. The note reads, “We are deeply saddened to announce the death of a student pursuing MTech at the Department of Instrumentation and Applied Physics

A 23-year-old MTech student from the Indian Institute of Science (IISc), Bengaluru, has tragically died after being found unconscious in his hostel room. The student, identified as Aviraj Hanumant Pawar from Satara, Maharashtra, was discovered on August 6, 2024. He was immediately taken to Ramaiah Hospital but was pronounced dead upon arrival.

The IISc has issued a condolence note expressing profound sadness at Pawar's passing. The note reads, “We are deeply saddened to announce the death of a student pursuing MTech at the Department of Instrumentation and Applied Physics. The student was found unconscious in the hostel on August 6, 2024, and was rushed to Ramaiah Hospital, where he unfortunately passed away.”

The Sadashivanagar police have registered an unnatural death report and are awaiting the post-mortem report to determine the cause of death. The investigation is ongoing. The IISc community extends its heartfelt condolences to Pawar’s family and friends during this difficult time.
