IIT Kharagpur Partners with CCRH to Advance Homoeopathic Research and Innovation
IIT Kharagpur has signed an MoU with the Central Council for Research in Homoeopathy (CCRH) to promote collaborative research in homoeopathy.
The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Kharagpur has signed an MoU with the Central Council for Research in Homoeopathy (CCRH) for a collaborative study on the project titled “Fourier Transform Infra-Red Spectroscopic Study and Raman Study in Homeopathic Potentized Medicines and Characterization, Standardization, and Analysis of Imponderable Medicines (such as X-Ray, Electricity, Magnetis Polus Australis, etc.)."
The study will encompass research activities, clinical verification, clinical research, and drug proving schemes to advance homoeopathic science. The project will span three years. All patents resulting from the research will be registered with the National Research Development Corporation (NRDC) under joint ownership. Both institutes will collaborate and consult each other on any publications related to the project, which will be co-authored.
The MoU was signed by Dr. Subhash Kaushik, Director General of CCRH, and Prof. Rintu Banerjee, Deputy Director of IIT Kharagpur, in the presence of Prof. V. K. Tewari, Director of IIT Kharagpur. The study team comprised Dr. Ritika Hassija Narula, Research Officer/Scientist-2 at CCRH, Dr. Chander Shekhar Tiwary, Assistant Professor in the Department of Metallurgical and Materials Engineering at IIT Kharagpur, along with Dr. Gurudeb Choubey, Scientist-4 at CCRH, Dr. Shivendu Ranjan from IIT Kharagpur, and other officials.
“A project based MoU has been signed between CCRH and IIT Kharagpur to undertake a fundamental research project on FTIR and Raman Study in Homeopathic Potentized Medicines and Characterization and Analysis of the Imponderabilia Medicines,” said Dr. Subhash Kaushik, Director General, CCRH.
Prof. V K Tewari, Director, IIT Kharagpur stated, “This MoU will be instrumental in the study of Homeopathic Potentized Medicines. We need to channelize the research projects that will give us the scope to develop and augment the field of medicine through technological convergence. In this study, Raman spectroscopy can be used to study the vibrational spectra of homeopathic medicines.”
