IIT Madras organises annual business festival ‘Samanvay 2022’

Samanvay 2022 witnessed industry leaders and speakers across varied domains of fin-tech, artificial intelligence, operations, analytics and entertainment management.  

The department of management studies at the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Madras organised an annual festival called Samanvay 2022 under the theme, ‘Revolutionizing Management with AI: The Resurgence, The Reality, The Revolution’. More than 3,000 people from various business schools and colleges across the country registered for the festival.  

An official statement from IIT Madras said, “Samanvay represents a confluence of thoughts and ideas, integration of knowledge and skills and synthesis of intellectual prowess and brilliance. This edition revolved around integrating data science, machine learning and artificial intelligence with existing paradigms of management to provide effective service to all stakeholders.”  

The event commenced with a marathon on October 30, 2022, followed by competitive events between November 4 and November 6, 2022. IIT Madras Director Prof V Kamakoti participated in the inaugural session. The inauguration was followed by ‘PlantIIT,’ the social responsibility activity in which saplings were planted across the campus to spread awareness on the importance of a clean environment.

Panel discussions, lecture series held in hybrid mode 

The events included lecture series, fireside chat and panel discussions on current and emerging domains in management studies, educational workshops for skill development. Panel discussions and lecture series were organised in a hybrid mode, on various domains of management such as operations, data analytics, and marketing.
