JEE Advanced 2026 Report Released by IIT Roorkee: Check key highlights and statistics
JEE Advanced 2026 was held on May 17, 2026 in two shifts from 9 am to 12 pm and 3 pm to 6 pm. A total of 1,87,389 candidates registered for JEE Advanced 2026, and 1,79,694 appeared for both papers. Of those who appeared, 56,880 candidates qualified.
The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Roorkee has released the JEE Advanced 2026 report. The report provides comprehensive information about the JEE Advanced exam for registration and appeared candidates, qualifying marks, toppers, exam pattern etc. The report also enlists details about the question wise performance of students in the paper 1 and 2.
The report will be very beneficial for candidates who are preparing for JEE Advanced 2027 as it provides useful information on question paper pattern and categorywise marks vs rank data. JEE Advanced 2027 is expected to be held in May first week 2027, with registrations expected to begin in early April.

JEE Advanced 2026 Qualifying marks (out of 360)
- Minimum aggregate: 92 for CRL, 82 for OBC-NCL and GEN-EWS, and 46 for SC, ST and PwD lists.
- 43,753 qualifiers made the regular rank lists; 13,127 (23.1%) cleared only the Preparatory Course cutoff (75% relaxation).
- The last-ranked CRL candidate was at rank 30,190 with 92 marks.
JEE Advanced 2026 Toppers
- Shubham Kumar (IIT Delhi zone) is CRL 1 with 330/360 (Maths 112, Physics 98, Chemistry 120). Kabeer Chhillar is second with 329.
- Arohi Deshpande (IIT Delhi zone) is the top woman at CRL 77 with 280/360.
- Top 10: IIT Delhi zone 5, Madras 3, Bombay 2. Top 25: Delhi 8, Madras 8, Bombay 6, Roorkee 2, Kanpur 1.

Delhi's Shubham Kumar secured AIR 1 with 330/360; Madras zone dominates the top 500
Shubham Kumar of the IIT Delhi zone is the CRL topper in JEE Advanced 2026, scoring 330 out of 360, with 112 in Maths, 98 in Physics and 120 in Chemistry. Kabeer Chhillar, also from the Delhi zone, is second with 329. Arohi Deshpande, also of the IIT Delhi zone, is the top-ranked woman at CRL 77, with 280 marks.
Delhi leads the top 10 with five candidates, ahead of Madras (three) and Bombay (two). Further down the list, IIT Madras zone is strongest, with 35 of the top 100 and 174 of the top 500, ahead of Bombay (120) and Delhi (114). IIT Guwahati zone has no candidate in the top 100, and its best rank is 122. Madras is also the biggest zone by numbers, with 14,294 qualified candidates.
Only one in three qualifies: 18,861 get IIT seats in JEE Advanced 2026, but women are 20% of the intake
Of the 179,694 candidates who appeared in both papers of JEE Advanced 2026, 56,880 qualified, and 18,861 have been allotted seats across 23 IITs. Women make up 20.22% of the allotted candidates (3,814). They were 23% of registrants, and 24.9% of the women who appeared qualified, compared with 33.6% of men. Around 37.7% of qualified women were allotted seats, against 32.2% of men.
However, the picture varies for every zone. Women are 24.2% of qualifiers in the Madras zone but just 15.2% in Delhi and 12.6% in Guwahati. By category, OPEN candidates took 38.2% of allotted seats and OBC-NCL 27.7%. Nearly one in four qualifiers (13,127) cleared only the Preparatory Course cutoff.
