NTA JEE Main 2026 registration is ongoing, and with that, lakhs of candidates across the nation are applying for the exam. This year, NTA has introduced the facility of fetching details in the online form from the Aadhar card of the candidates. However, after entering the Aadhar ID numbers, candidates are redirected to the same page.

Candidates have reported some glitches regarding the JEE Main 2026 session 1 registration. The errors students are facing are regarding the identity type selection. Read more details below.

NTA JEE Main 2026 registration is ongoing, and with that, lakhs of candidates across the nation are applying for the exam. This year, NTA has introduced the facility of fetching details in the online form from the Aadhar card of the candidates. However, after entering the Aadhar ID numbers, candidates are redirected to the same page rather than moving to the next step of the application process. This error has left many candidates in confusion, and they have reported the issue over social media and various candidate forums.

However, when another ID was used to complete the application process, the next step of the application process was accessible.

Also, there are many other glitches in the JEE Main application process when ot comes to selecting identity type details. Not all candidates are getting the option to choose ID type options. On one hand, some are only getting Digilocker and Aadhaar card as an option, some are getting more options like PAN and passport.

Initially, NTA announced the session 2 dates as April 1 to 10, and now it has been revised to April 2 to 9.

NTA has started JEE Main 2026 session 1 registration on October 31, and the registrations will go on till November 27. The session 1 exam will be held between January 21 and 30. The JEE Main 2026 session 2 dates have also been revised.

JEE Main 2026 will be held across 323 exam centres. There has been an increase of 33 exam centes from the previous year. The exam will be held in computer-based test mode, and all candidates will be allotted an exam date, time and centre to appear for the exam via the JEE Main 2026 admit card.
