NTA Simplifies the JEE Main 2026 Registration Process

The National Testing Agency (NTA) has introduced a major change in the JEE Main 2026 registration process. The Aadhar-based auto-filling makes the application process simpler for lakhs of engineering aspirants. As the students’ details will be fetched directly from their Aadhaar database, the authorities advised aspirants to get it updated.

According to the public advisory released by NTA on October 19, 2025, details such as the candidate’s name, date of birth, gender, and address will be automatically filled in during the application process. Applicants still have to fill in their parents’/guardians’ details as those are not available from UIDAI.

Option to Correct Name Mismatch in JEE Main Application Form

Students should also note that the authority will provide an option to correct the discrepancies between their Aadhaar details and the name on the Class 10 certificates. This can be done within the JEE Main portal itself.

This Aadhaar-based auto-update is quite an impressive step toward streamlining the application form and aligning it with the existing database. This would not only reduce the errors, but this can also help in verifying applicants' identities.
