JEE Main 2026 Registration Starts Soon; NTA Simplifies Form Filling Process
The Aadhar-based auto-fetch feature is the highlight of this year's JEE Mains 2026 registration process. JEE Mains notification 2026 reads, ‘NTA will be obtaining Name, Date of Birth, Gender, Photograph and Address from UIDAI through Aadhaar Authentication.
The National Testing Agency (NTA) has introduced a major change in the JEE Main 2026 registration process. The Aadhar-based auto-filling makes the application process simpler for lakhs of engineering aspirants. As the students’ details will be fetched directly from their Aadhaar database, the authorities advised aspirants to get it updated.
According to the public advisory released by NTA on October 19, 2025, details such as the candidate’s name, date of birth, gender, and address will be automatically filled in during the application process. Applicants still have to fill in their parents’/guardians’ details as those are not available from UIDAI.
Option to Correct Name Mismatch in JEE Main Application Form
Students should also make a note that the authority will provide an option to resolve discrepancies between their Aadhaar details and the name on the Class 10 certificates. This option will be available within the JEE Main portal itself.
This Aadhaar-based auto-fill update is an impressive step towards simplifying the application form and streamlining it with the existing database. This will not only help reduce errors but also help in verifying applicants’ identities.

The JEE Main 2026 exam will be conducted in two sessions:
