JEE Main 2026 Session 1 Begins Tomorrow: Exam Day Guidelines, Dress Code and Required Documents

JEE Main 2026 Exam: National Testing Agency will conduct JEE Main 2026 Session 1 from January 21 to 29. Before going for exam, candidates must carry all mandatory items. They need to report to their allotted JEE Main exam centres 2026 along with admit card and any one valid ID card. They must go through important exam day instructions released by NTA, including what to carry and dress code.
Candidates are advised to check their JEE Main admit cards 2026 for details related to exam date, shift timing, reporting time and exam centre address. Entry to exam hall will strictly follow reporting time mentioned admit card. Late entry may not be permitted under any circumstances.

What to Carry to JEE Main Exam Centre 2026?Â
Candidates must carry these items to exam centre
- JEE Main 2026 Admit Card: A clear printout of hall ticket downloaded from official website
- Valid Photo Identity Proof in original: Aadhaar Card, PAN Card, Passport, Voter ID, Driving Licence or School/College IDÂ
- Passport-size Photograph
- PwD Certificate, if applicable
Candidates claiming PwD benefits must carry original certificate issued by a competent authority.
Note: No electronic gadgets, papers, or personal belongings other than the permitted items are allowed inside the exam hall.
JEE Main 2026 Dress Code Guidelines
To ensure smooth frisking, NTA has not prescribed any dress code. However, candidates must follow these
- Light clothes
- Simple trousers or pants
- Slippers or sandals with low heels
Items Not Allowed at JEE Main 2026 Exam Centre
- Shoes, boots or footwear with thick soles
- Full-sleeve shirts, jackets, hoodies or coats
- Clothing with large buttons, badges, brooches or metallic decorations
- Caps, scarves, stoles or headgear, unless for religious reasons
- Watches, bracelets, rings, chains or any metallic accessories
Prohibited Items at JEE Main Exam Centres 2026
These items are banned
- Mobile phones, smart watches, Bluetooth devices
- Calculators or electronic gadgets
- Wallets, handbags, books, notes or loose papers
