LPU Tops TIMES Higher Education Sustainability Impact Ranking 2026

The Lovely Professional University (LPU), Jalandhar has bagged the first position among Indian University in the Times Higher Education Sustainability Impact Ranking 2026. The global position for LPU is 23rd among the 1600 participant institutions.

The overall rating of the LPU is 95.2 with SDG rating 90.1. The ranking was announced on June 10, 2026.

LPU participated under all 17 sustainability goals categories, the most important of which include Affordable & Clean Energy, Clean Water & Sanitation, and Zero Hunger. The university scored a rating of 86.0, 92.5 and 90.1 respectively in all three goals.

The impact ratings allow institutions to demonstrate rapid improvement year-on-year, by introducing clear new policies, or by providing clearer and more open evidence of their progress.

The impact ratings could be very helpful in decision-making for students and academics to identify the top universities in specific areas of sustainable development as well as understand the focus areas of each institution.

The Sustainability Impact Ranking by Times measure universities success in delivering the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals. LPU NIRF ranking is 31st among all government and privated universities in India.
