Madras University Job Fair: Over 100 differently-abled candidates shortlisted

Madras University Job Fair 2022: Madras University conducted a job fair recently to make recruitment opportunities available for differently-abled candidates. The fair attracted more than 300 candidates from across the city on Saturday. Industry giants such as Amazon, Accenture, Infosys, TVS Motors shortlisted more than 100 candidates for various roles including software developers, programmers, accounts and administration. If selected, these candidates would receive a salary up to INR 3lakh a year.

Madras University Job Fair 2022 was organized for differently abled candidates in association with Youth 4 Jobs, National Career Service and Special Employment office. “The event has received a very good response. Thirty companies have conducted interviews to shortlist the candidates. We expect more than 100 job offers from companies from this drive,” said T M Sridhar, placement officer of the university.

Talking about the candidates and their qualifications, Accenture senior analyst Jitendra Sharma said the quality of the candidates was so good. “We will issue offer letters to the shortlisted candidates after another round of an interview,” he said.

The Madras Univeristy Job Fair provided candidates with opportunity to appear for multiple opportunities. Nowshath Ali, MBA graduate and visually challenged candidate, attended interviews in four companies including Infosys, Amazon and Accenture on Saturday. “I was shortlisted for next rounds in two companies and confident of getting a job offer,” he said. Sujai, another candidate, told TOI, “The organisers have arranged volunteers to communicate between the hearing-impaired candidates and the companies. It is a nice initiative,” he said. City police commissioner Shankar Jiwal inaugurated the job fair.
