MP CM directs Rajiv Gandhi Technological University to conduct examinations online

RGPV students have been protesting for some time demanding online examinations.

Madhya Pradesh based Rajiv Gandhi Technological University (RGPV) has decided to conduct the examinations in online mode, instead of offline. The offline examinations were scheduled to begin on December 10.

RGPV students have been protesting for some time demanding online examinations. State Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan directed the technical education department to conduct the examination online.

The Department of Technical Education, Skill Development & Employment, Government of MP has issued a statement stating: “Chief Minister directed to conduct the Rajiv Gandhi Technological University examinations online instead of offline. Keeping in view the safety of the students, the examinations will now be conducted online.”

Following the announcement, CM Shivraj Chouhan wrote on Twitter: “Keeping in mind the problems of the students, for their convenience, it has been decided to make the examinations of Rajiv Gandhi Technological University (RGPV) online instead of offline. Students study hard and get success, my best wishes.”

Last week, a large number of students sat on dharna in the corridor of the campus and raised slogans demanding online examination, they also gheraoed Vice-Chancellor's office pressing for their demands.

RGPV administration has scheduled the offline exam from December 10. Students have been arguing that offline examination is not in their favour as many of them do not have rooms since the hostel of college has not opened.
