MTech admissions 2022: PU invites applications to fill vacant seats

Panjab University has invited applications to fill vacant master of technology (MTech) seats at the University Institute of Engineering and Technology (UIET).
GATE-qualified candidates to be given priority
Candidates can send their applications to pgadmissionuiet@gmail.com by October 3. First preference will be given to GATE (Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering)-qualified candidates on the basis of their score. After that those who have cleared the postgraduate common entrance test (CET-PG) will be considered on the basis of their rank and percentage secured in their bachelorโs courses.
As per a circular issued by the university, students are advised to fill the admission form available on the official website of the UIET and submit along with copy of documents at pgadmissionuiet@gmail.com by October 3. The circular read counselling schedule will be put on the website soon and students should keep visiting the website for latest updates.
The University Business School will also conduct counselling-cum-admission sessions for admission to master of commerce (Honours) and masters of business administration for the 2022-23 academic session.
PU teachers to retire at 60
Meanwhile, following an order of the Punjab and Haryana high court, the retirement age at PU will remain 60 years, with no room for extension. The division bench of HC was hearing a bunch of appeals filed by teachers against the order of a single bench, which dismissed their plea seeking enhancement of retirement age of PU faculty from 60 to 65 years.
