The 10th edition of the NIRF Rankings, NIRF India Rankings 2025 shows strong continuity in Overall, University, Engineering, MBA, and Medical categories, but Hindu College overtakes Miranda House in the Colleges list.

IISc Bangalore has topped in 'University' Category of NIRF Rankings 2025

The National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF) India Rankings 2025 were released today by the Ministry of Education. In its 10th edition, the rankings assessed institutions across 17 categories with participation swelling to over 14,000 applicants. While most categories saw continuity from last year, there were some interesting shifts—most notably in the Colleges category, where Hindu College dethroned Miranda House, ending its long dominance.

NIRF India Rankings 2025: Key Takeaways

The NIRF 2025 Rankings reflect continuity across most categories, with IIT Madras, IISc, AIIMS, IIM Ahmedabad, and NLSIU retaining their leadership. The most notable change came in the Colleges category, where Hindu College replaced Miranda House at the top, while BITS Pilani broke into the University Top 10. In Engineering, IIT (BHU) Varanasi re-entered the list as IIT Guwahati and IIT Hyderabad swapped places. By contrast, Medical, Law, and Dental rankings showed complete stability, with the same institutions retaining their dominance as last year.

 

Q:   What's new in CAT exam?
A:

In CAT 2025, the following changes were seen:

  • The fee amount is increased from INR 2,500 to INR 2,600 for General category candidates and from INR 1,250 to INR 1300 for Reserved category candidates. 
  • In the DILR section, number of questions increased from 20 to 22. 
  • The total marks of CAT DILR section increased from 60 to 66. 
  • The total marks of CAT exam increased from 198 to 204. 
  • Candidates can select five cities instead of six.
Q:   Is there negative marking in JEE Main?
A:

Yes, JEE Main exam has negative marking provision. As per the current exam pattern of JEE Main, 4 marks is awarded for every correct answer, while 1 mark is deducted for every incorrect answer.
