NIT Sikkim hosts 5th convocation ceremony; Confers 252 degrees

Aditi Parashar was awarded the Director Gold Medal for her best overall performance among the BTech graduates. Anjali Roy was awarded the Institute Gold medal for her best academic performance among the BTech graduates.

NIT Sikkim 5^th Convocation 2023: National Institute of Technology Sikkim organized the 5th Convocation ceremony. A total of 252 degrees were awarded to the graduating students during the convocation. It included 19 students of Doctor of Philosophy, 36 students of Master of Technology, 15 students of Master of Science and 182 students of Bachelor of Technology.

Aditi Parashar was awarded the Director Gold Medal for her best overall performance among the BTech graduates. Anjali Roy was awarded the Institute Gold medal for her best academic performance among the BTech graduates. The medals and degrees were awarded to the graduating students by various Guests and the Director of the Institute. The Director urged the students to achieve great heights in their lives and work towards the betterment of the nation and mankind.

NIT Sikkim received congratulatory messages from Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Governor of the State Laxman Prasad Acharya, Chief Minister of the State Prem Singh Tamang, Minister Education, Skill Development and Entrepreneurship, Government of India Shri Dharmendra Pradhan and other eminent personalities.

The welcome address and the director’s report were presented by Professor M C Govil, Director, NIT Sikkim. The keynote of the report was accolades and achievements of the Institute during the last thirteen years, with special emphasis on the past year. He informed the gathering that the Institute has featured in the NIRF rankings for the first time in 2022. Furthermore, the Institute has been handed over about 100 acres of land in Khamdong, near Singtam, Sikkim by the Government of Sikkim.
