NIT-T, BRIDGE Bharat Council collaborate to develop new defence, civil products

National Institute of Technology (NIT) Tiruchi has joined hands with BRIDGE Bharat Council by signing a memorandum of understanding (MoU). The collaboration has taken place in order to promote Innovation, Research and Entrepreneurship in Thanjavur. The steps are being taken for strengthening industry-academia interaction in developing defence and civil products.

MoU to provide experience in the field of Defence & Civil Sector
The memorandum of understanding would provide opportunities to faculty members and students to gain hands-on experience in the field of Defence and Civil sectors, according to the official statement released by the institute.
Talking about the collaboration taken place between the institute and BRIDGE Bharat Council, Professor Aghila said that it will also help students and faculties to apply for various defence-funded projects. Under this collaboration, research will be encouraged on issues related to Defence and Civil related (Make in India) projects, student internships, innovations to design/fabricate prototypes, sharing of laboratory facilities, workshops/guest lectures, joint research and development projects and joint publications of research papers between BRIDGE Bharat Council and NIT-T, the official press release said.
The validity of this memorandum of understanding is valid for three years. The initiatives under this collaboration will help to bridge the gap between academic excellence and business requirements, the release said.
