NIT Trichy to organise meet on emergency support and disaster mgmt
The first international conference on ‘Intelligent Solutions for Emergency Support and Disaster Management (ISERDM 2023)’ will be held from January 9 to 11.
The National Institute of Technology (NIT) Trichy and the Centre for Development of Advanced Computing (CDAC) Trivandrum, will jointly organise the first international conference on ‘Intelligent Solutions for Emergency Support and Disaster Management (ISERDM 2023)’ from January 9 to 11.
Event open to all undergrads
The event is open to all undergraduate students who are pursuing BSc, BCA, BBA, BCom, BE, and BTech. The participants, in teams of two, are required to propose their own problem statements in the domains of app development, machine learning, data science and IT/web security. The event will also include a 28-hour hackathon, The Hindu reported.
The selection will be based on how fresh, innovative and novel the ideas are. Prize money worth INR 25,000 has been planned. The hackathon will be conducted completely in offline mode, on the premises of NIT Trichy, a press release said.
The main goal of the conference is to share and discuss solutions to emergency support and disaster management through intelligence. The conference will discuss various ideologies and methods of more intelligent solutions and also investigates the different approaches developed in emergency support and disaster management. The conference provides opportunities to interact with prominent people in the field and immensely expand the network of scholars and professionals.
The conference will be inaugurated by V Thiruppugazh, Chairman, the Advisory Committee on Flood Mitigation for Chennai Metro, and Former Advisor, National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA), Ministry of Home Affairs.
