The company will hire around 260 engineers from IITs for its three research and development (R&D) centres in Bengaluru, Noida and Delhi and the rest will be recruited from BITS Pilani, IIITs and NITs. 

Smartphone maker company Samsung is planning to hire over 1,000 engineers in India from top engineering colleges, including BITS Pilani and NITs, in 2022. Engineers, who will be graduating in 2022, will be hired for new-age domains such as artificial intelligence (AI), machine learning, IoT, deep learning, networks, image processing, cloud, data analysis, on-device AI and camera technologies, Samsung said in a statement. 

The company will hire around 260 engineers from IITs in Delhi, Kanpur, Mumbai, Madras, Guwahati, Kharagpur, BHU and Roorkee for its three research and development (R&D) centres in Bengaluru, Noida and Delhi. The rest of the hiring will be from other top engineering colleges such as BITS Pilani, IIITs and NITs, it added. 

The company will hire students from various streams such as computer science, electronics and communications, electrical engineering, mathematics and computing, instrumentation and information technology, to support its efforts to build innovative solutions for India-specific challenges. 

Samsung India Senior Vice-President and Head (Human Resources) Sameer Wadhawan said, “We are planning to hire over 1,000 engineers this year and have already extended 250 pre-placement offers (PPOs) to engineers at IITs and other premiere engineering institutes,” he said. He further said, “We had increased internship period this year. This helps us choose bright students. Hiring through PPOs helps both employer and the employee get a better perspective on job fitment and satisfaction.”
