Tezpur University will conduct its entrance exam known as Tezpur University Entrance Exam (TUEE) across 27 exam centres covering major cities all over India. The University’s entrance exam will also be conducted in Kathmandu (Nepal), Thimpu (Bhutan) and Dhaka (Bangladesh).

Tezpur University admissions 2020-21 application process has begun. Tezpur University, a Central University in Assam has invited admission applications for the academic year 2020-2021. The University offers various programmes and diverse courses. According to the reports, the selection criteria varies for all the offered programmes. The University will take admissions through merit, entrance exam, and JEE test. Interested and eligible candidates can fill and submit the admission forms available online on the University’s official admission portal, on or before April 7, 2020.

Tezpur University admissions 2020-21: Eligibility Criteria

BTech programme admissions will be through the All India Ranks of JEE Main. The University has reserved 60% of the total seats for candidates belonging to the North-Eastern states of the country. According to the official notice released by the University, in order to apply for the reserved seats, the candidates need to produce a Permanent Residence Certificate (PRC) issued by the Competent Authority of any NE state.

For PhD programmes admissions, candidates will the University will select candidates through written test and interview. However, candidates with UGC-CSIR (NET/ JRF)/ UGC-(NET/ JRF)/ DBT JRF/ ICMR-JRF/ ICAR-NET/ GATE/ SLET / M.Phil are exempted from appearing in the written test only.

Tezpur University admissions: Seat reservations

While the University has reserved 60% of the total seats for the candidates belonging to the Northeaster state, the educational institution has reserved a few seats under sports quota. According to the official admission notice, the University has reserved five seats with not more than one seat per department for the candidates who have participated in National or International sports events. However, the candidates applying under sports quota will also have to fulfill the eligibility criteria and appear for the entrance exam.
