Thapar Institute of Engineering and Technology has started admissions for BE and BTech programmes. This year institute recorded unprecedented number of applications for undergraduate courses. To enhance its learning ecosystem TIET has launched UQ Centre of Excellence in collaboration with University of Queensland. Now open at dsai.thapar.edu.

TIET BE/BTech Admission Cutoff

TIET BE and BTech cutoff percentiles in first and second rounds of counselling ranged between 97 and 98. Many programmes witnessed intense competition particularly Computer Science and Engineering newly launched Data Science and Artificial Intelligence programme, Computer Engineering, and Computer Science and Business Systems. These sought after streams drew top performing students from across country contributing to a dynamic and academically driven cohort. Additionally, there has been a marked rise in demand for traditional engineering disciplines such as Civil, Chemical, Mechanical, and Mechatronics.

Thapar Institute of Engineering and Technology Scholarships

TIET remains committed to making quality education accessible and merit-based. In previous academic year alone, institute awarded scholarships worth over INR 32 crore under merit and means categories, enabling deserving students to pursue their academic goals without financial barriers.

TIET also offers lateral entry admissions for diploma holders, allowing eligible students to join directly in the second year of BE and BTech programme. This pathway not only saves a full academic year but also provides merit-based scholarships of up to 50%. Lateral entry students receive same academic rigour and placement support as regular engineering students.
