The University of Petroleum and Energy Studies (UPES), Dehradun, will soon open the UPESEAT 2026 registration link. The institute is currently in its last counselling phase to fill the vacant seats for the 2025 academic session. The UPESEAT 2026 application form is expected after September 12, 2025. Last year, the UPES registration started on September 3. Interested candidates who meet the UPESEAT eligibility criteria will be able to apply on the website, upes.ac.in.
The authority conducts its entrance, UPESEAT, as a remotely proctored exam for 2 hours. As per the exam pattern of UPESEAT, there are 125 MCQs divided into 4 subjects- Physics, Chemistry, Maths and English Language Comprehension. While each question is of 1 mark, there is no provision for negative marking. Admission to 20 BTech courses, including the global programmes, is based on UPESEAT/ JEE Mains/ Board Merit/ SAT/ CUET.

UPESEAT Application forms releases every year online at the official website by the authority. Candidates who want to take admission to the BTechprogrammeoffered by the University of Petroleum & Energy Studies, Dehradun must fill out the application forms to appear for the test. All the candidates who are registered, on qualifying for the exam will be granted admission to the UPES for engineering degrees. The application fee can be paid online only through Credit Card, Debit Card, Net Banking, and Pay U. The exam authority will not accept the UPES Dehradun application fee in any other mode. After paying the fee, candidates need to upload the scanned images of required documents and review all the details filled in the UPESEAT registration form.

The University’s Admission Committee has set the UPESEAT BTech eligibility criteria to at least 50% marks in classes 10th and 12th, along with 50% individually in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics in class 12th. For the B.Tech Mathematics and Computing programme, the minimum marks in class 10th and 12th are 70%, along with 70% individually in Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics in class 12th. Any student who fulfils this basic requirement can apply for admission.
How to Apply for UPESEAT 2026?
The University will release the UPESEAT application form on the website, upes.ac.in. Candidates have to complete a basic registration to generate their login details. Log in to the candidate portal and fill up the complete form. Lastly, pay the UPESEAT registration fee of Rs 1750.
