VIT University (Vellore Institute of Technology) and University of Galway, Ireland have signed a five-year memorandum to expand academic collaborations and career opportunities for students and teachers. The partnership will focus on the following -

Joint Research

Teachers and researchers from both universities will have the opportunity to work together to solve big world problems. 

Student and Faculty Exchanges

With this agreement, students and teachers will get a chance to travel and study or teach at each other’s campuses. This can gain a lot of international exposure.

Introduction to New Special Courses

Vellore Institute of Technology, along with University of Galway is planning to introduce special programs, especially in biotechnology, including 2+2 progression-based programmes that allow students to study across both campuses. 

Prof. Alex Metcalfe, Vice President International at University of Galway, tated that India has always been an important partner for university research, innovation, and academic collaboration. He also mentioned that partnering with Vellore Institute of Technology could create opportunities for collaborative knowledge and strengthen institutional tie-ups.
