VITREE 2026 application form for January session will close today (Nov 20). Candidates who want to apply PhD admissions must submit their form before deadline. The Vellore Institute of Technology will close the VITREE 2026 registration TODAY (Nov 20, 2025). Candidates willing to apply for PhD admissions can visit the website and apply now.

Procedure to fill VITREE Exam Application Form 2026

Candidates who meet eligibility can apply by visiting official website - vit.ac.in. Process to apply and register can be checked below-

  • Login using credentials and fill in details
  • Upload documents and review
  • Make fee payment and submit application form
  • Keep a copy for future reference

The VITREE 2025 application fee is INR 1200 for all applicants and can be paid via net banking or credit/debit card.

VITREE 2026 Exam Pattern

Candidates can check VITREE exam pattern below -

  • VITREE is a computer-based test
  • The time duration is two hours 
  • VITREE question paper consists of 100 MCQs
  • For PhD, the question distribution is in the following way (Technical- 70 questions, English communication skills - 15 questions, and Statistics and Probability - 15 questions)
  • For Direct PhD, the questions will be chosen from the following (Technical - 80 questions, English communication skills - 20 questions).
Q:   Are admissions to VIT (Vellore) solely based on the VITEEE?
A:

The institute conducts VITEEE for BTech admission, VITMEE for M.Tech admissions and VITREE for PhD admission. The institute accepts national-level entrance exams like CAT, XAT, MAT, GMAT, CMAT, ATMA, etc., for MBA course. However, admission to a few other courses, including BSc, BSc (Hons), BCA, BCom, MSc, MCA, among others, is based on the aggregate obtained by the candidates in previous qualifying degree/ exam (merit-based). After passing the entrance exam, aspirants are called further rounds of selection. Shortlisted aspirants need to come for counselling and document verification round.

Q:   What is the last date to apply for VIT Chennai MTech?
A:

Vellore Institute of Technology (VIT), Chennai usually releases the application form for VITMEE in January and concludes the VITMEE exam in April. Candidates willing to take admission in M.Tech at VIT, Chennai must take this entrance exam, which is VIT's own entrance exam. The candidate should have a minimum of 60% aggregate in BTech to apply for VITMEE, also students need to prepare well for the exam described above to become eligible for the counselling process followed by document verification and fee payment.

Q:   What is the selection criteria for VIT Vellore BDes?
A:

VIT Vellore offers BDes with a duration of four years. Candidates seeking admission to BDes courses must pass Class 10 and Class 12 from a recognised board. The admission to the BDes course is UCEED entrance-based. Further, VIT conducts VIT-DAT for students who have not attended UCEED exams. Given below are more parameters required for admission along with their weightage:
