VTU postpones BTech first year exams in view of Assembly elections in Karnataka
The exams that were scheduled to take place on April 20 will now be held on April 27.
The Visvesvaraya Technological University (VTU) has postponed BTech first-year exams, which were schdeuled to take place on April 20, in view of upcoming Assembly elections in Karnataka. The BTech first year exams will now be held on April 27.
VTU teachers are attending a training programme organised by the Election Commission for the upcoming Assembly elections in the state. The teachers will be drafted as EC personnel for the elections.
An official circular read, “Document verification of 2022-23 academic year students admissions is in the final stage and likely to be completed by this week. Teachers are also attending training given by the Election Commission of India for the Karnataka Assembly elections. Because of these reasons, first-year engineering exams scheduled on April 20 are postponed to April 27.”
Special exam for UG, PG students
To mark its silver jubilee, Visvesvaraya Technological University has also decided to give an opportunity to its alumni to clear backlogs irrespective of their batch this year. The special exam is applicable foe both undergraduate and postgraduate students. There are 208 engineering colleges affiliated to VTU and a total of around three lakh students are studying in these colleges in various semesters.
