Regular BA, BCom, BSc, BBA, and BCA students can choose a second undergraduate degree from one of the 20 programs, following UGC guidelines, and get a dual degree.

Gujarat University

Gujarat University has announced the commencement of dual degrees for undergraduate students. The university has notified that 20 undergraduate programmes will be commenced. Through this initiative, BA, BCom, BSc, BBA, and BCA students will have the opportunity to pursue a second undergraduate degree from a selection of 20 specialized programs, in accordance with UGC guidelines, and graduate with a prestigious dual degree. 

Gujarat University (GU) has 67 departments and offers a wide range of 152 programs, including undergraduate, postgraduate, diploma, and certificate courses. The university currently has around 15,000 students. It is connected to 325 colleges across Gujarat, and its faculty members teach in various fields such as Arts, Commerce, Science, Education, Medicine, and Management. With the initiative of dual degrees, students will have a broader range of career options, a competitive edge, and a deeper understanding of their chosen subjects. 

Dual Degree Programmes from Session 2025-26

The Executive Council of Gujarat University (GU) approved the introduction of dual degree options in 20 programs on campus. The regular students enrolled in the UG programme will be able to pursue the second undergraduate degree along with the current programme that will be launched in the academic session 2025-26, as reported by Indian Express. 

GU decided to offer double degrees to students to save time and minimize administrative complexities. Further, this initiative also seeks to promote financial and academic autonomy while addressing the growing competition from international universities. At present, the university is offering semester 2 admissions for students (deprived for admission only) ill today i.e. February 24, 2025.
