MAHE Announces BSc to MSc Course in Clinical & Computational Neurosciences; Know Programme Details

MAHE's BSc to MSc Program in Clinical and Computational Neurosciences aims to address the increasing need for advanced education in medical sciences overseas while offering students a variety of career opportunities after completion of the programme.
Manipal Academy of Higher Education (MAHE) has announced a new academic program i.e. BSc in Medical Sciences to MSc in Clinical and Computational Neurosciences. Starting from the 2025 academic year, the programme will be led through the MAHE's Department of Basic Medical Sciences (DBMS). The program is designed to address the increasing demand for advanced medical science education while providing students with a wide range of career opportunities after the completion of the programme. Interested candidates can now apply for the B.Sc. Basic Medical Sciences (UG) program through apply.manipal.edu under the Health Science stream.
BSc in Medical Sciences to MSc in Clinical and Computational Neurosciences Course Explained
The program will offer various pathways, enabling students to choose their academic journey according to their performance and interests. Starting with a BSc in Medical Sciences, students can either complete their BSc in Basic Medical Sciences or advance to postgraduate studies. Students with a CGPA of 7.5 or higher and rank in the top 25% of their class may opt for a fourth-year research project, earning a BSc Honours in Basic Medical Sciences with a minor in Clinical Neurosciences. Besides, graduates from this track will be eligible for direct PhD admission, as per NEP 2020, without having a master’s degree.
Students with a CGPA of 6.5 or above, but not selected for the research track, can still progress to the fourth year and specialize in either Clinical Neuroscience or Computational Neuroscience. Upon completing the fifth year, they will receive an M.Sc. in Clinical Neurosciences or an M.Sc. in Computational Neurosciences, in addition to their B.Sc. degree.
