Jamia Millia Islamia Pioneers New Skill Hub to Drive Career Innovation

JMI unveiled the centre of excellence for Professional Skill Development at University Polytechnic in order to offer industry aligned and future ready education for students. 

Jamia Millia Islamia (JMI) has released the Centre of Excellence for professional skill development at the university in order to transform technical education. The state-of-the-art facility was inaugurated by the Hon'ble Vice-Chancellor in the presence of distinguished academicians. Dr. M. A. Khan, Acting Principal of University Polytechnic, highlighted the centre's role in bridging the gap between academia and evolving industry demands along with the important technological trends. 

The event highlighted the transformative effect of academic-industry collaboration, with Prof. Mini Thomas emphasizing the significance of preparing job-ready graduates.  Professor Rizvi envisaged the Centre as a hub for innovation, skill development, and inclusive growth.  In his presidential address, Vice Chancellor Prof. Mazhar Asif lauded the program as a key component of JMI's mission to developing a generation of talented, socially conscious professionals.

Three PhD Scholars from MCARS Joins Postdoctoral Fellowship in USA 

Meanwhile, three PhD scholars Dr. Md Iqbal Azmi, Dr. Saleem Anwar, and Dr. Khursheed Ul Islam has joined secured esteemed postdoctoral positions in the United States. These studnrs have completed their doctoral research under the supervision of Dr Jawed Iqbal at Multidisciplinary Centre for Advanced Research and Studies (MCARS). 

Pleasantly, all three scholars secured postdoctoral offers immediately after completing their PhDs and joined within three months.  This success highlights Dr. Iqbal's great mentorship and the high quality of research undertaken in his laboratory. These innovations were made possible through collaborations with Dr. Tanveer Ahmad, Dr. Mohan Joshi (JMI), and scientists from other institutions.
