JGU is one of 11 global universities to be awarded Gold, achieving the highest score in key ranking areas and the best outcomes score among all Gold-awarded universities.

OP Jindal Global University

O.P. Jindal Global University (JGU) has secured rank 1 in the world in the Times Higher Education (THE) Online Learning Rankings 2024. Scoring the overall highest score among all the universities; JGU has topped in the four key parameters including resource, engagement outcomes and environment. The university scored an overall score of 287.7 in all four areas combined.

The score achieved by O. P. Jindal Global University was the highest out of all 120 universities which participated in the ranking. Some of the universities that participated were Arizona State University (Tempe, USA), the University of Essex, the University of Liverpool, and the University of South Australia, among others. 

The THE Online Learning Rankings (OLR) divide universities into three groups: Gold, Silver, and Bronze. JGU is one of 11 global universities to be awarded Gold, achieving the highest score in key ranking areas and the best outcomes score among all Gold-awarded universities. Apart from JGU, only one other university from India has made it to the Gold category.

Ranking Parameters 

THE, while providing rankings, considers staff-student interaction, accessibility for people with disabilities, student-to-student collaboration and the quantity of programs offered in order to gauge how engaged students are in online learning. Besides, student recommendation and student progression rate are used to create the results. The parameters used to evaluate the best environment for online learning include the presence of students with disabilities, staff gender and age diversity, the number of support staff per student, connectivity support, and other offline resources.
