UGC Extends ODL and Online Programme Applications Deadline to November 17, 2025

As per a public notice issued UGC deadline to submit application was earlier November 10, 2025, has now been extended to November 17, 2025.

University Grants Commission (UGC) has announced an extension of submission deadline for Higher Educational Institutions (HEIs) seeking recognition to offer programmes under Open and Distance Learning (ODL) on through Online modes for the academic year 2025-26.

As per a public notice issued UGC the deadline to submit application was earlier November 10, 2025, has now been extended to November 17, 2025

This decision has taken as UGC received requests from universities and colleges after its previous notice dated October 21, 2025. The extension applies to applications for academic sessions beginning February 2026 and onwards, as per the UGC (Open and Distance Learning Programmes and Online Programmes) Regulations, 2020, and its amendments.

The move aims to accommodate institutions still preparing their submissions under UGC Regulations.

UGC has asked HEIs to regularly check UGC DEB website (https://deb.ugc.ac.in/) for further updates or clarifications. This extension reflects UGC’s commitment to supporting educational institutions in delivering quality distance and online education across India.
