IIT Tirupati inks pact with TCS for research collaboration

IIT Tirupati has entered into an agreement with Tata Consultancy Services for academic and research collaboration.

IIT Tirupati has signed an MoU with the Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) for academic and research collaboration and joint student supervision and teaching of joint courses along the lines of the National Programme on Technology Enhanced Learning (NPTEL) India.

Under the agreement, courses from renowned institutions like MIT and Stanford in the USA will be offered and IIT Tirupati and TCS will be hosting joint workshops and conferences, as reported by The Hans India.

The agreement will facilitate joint development of research programmes, faculty, researcher and student exchanges, student internships and a host of other collaborative research and academic engagements like joint publications. Moreover, it will open new possibilities for industry internships for IIT Tirupati's MSc and BTech students in quantum computing and quantum technology domain.

IIT Tirupati Director Prof K N Satyanarayana spoke about how the MoU shall benefit both institutions and how quantum science and technology applications would benefit the nation and society. Raju Goteti, VP and Global Head of TCS COIN spoke about the various initiatives taken by IIT Tirupati towards nation building by contributing to advanced education in frontier areas of engineering, technology, sciences and also humanities and social sciences.

IIT Tirupati calls for Technical Business Ideas 2022

The engineering institute has called for the Technical Business Ideas 2022. The Pre-incubation cell at IIT Tirupati has invited applications from students stating their innovative technical ideas. After a thorough evaluation of the applications based on technical merit and business viability, IIT Tirupati will facilitate innovators and researchers to turn their ideas into a commercial venture. Applications can be sent latest by August 12, 2022.

The selected students will get financial support of INR 1.5 lakh, mentorship, IP filling and fundraising support.
