NIRF Law Colleges Ranking 2025: NLSIU Bangalore Retains Top Spot, NLU Delhi Follows

The Ministry of Education (MoE), in collaboration with the National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF), has released the NIRF Ranking 2025. According to the latest rankings for law colleges in India, National Law School of India University (NLSIU), Bangalore, National Law University (NLU), New Delhi, and NALSAR University of Law, Hyderabad have secured the top three positions. At the press conference announcing the rankings, it was highlighted that NLSIU Bangalore and NLU Delhi continue to dominate as the leading law institutions in the country.

The NIRF, first approved by the Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD) in 2015, evaluates institutions on key parameters such as Teaching, Learning and Resources (TLR), Research and Professional Practice (RPC), Graduation Outcomes (GO), Outreach and Inclusivity (OI), and Perception. Since 2017, NIRF has also introduced discipline-specific rankings, including law.

As a result, the 24 National Law Universities (NLUs) consistently feature among the best law colleges in India. Alongside them, several leading private institutions such as Symbiosis Law School (SLS), Pune, ILS Law College, Pune, UPES School of Law, Dehradun, and Christ University Law College, Bengaluru, have also secured strong positions in the NIRF Law Rankings.
