
BJP MLA Vijay Rahangdale's son Avishkar Rahangdale was among those 7 students of Sawangi Medical College who were killed in Maharashtra's Wardha district in a road accident.
In an unfortunate incident, seven medical students have died in Maharashtra's Wardha district after their car fell off a bridge. Among the deceased also is BJP MLA Vijay Rahangdale's son Avishkar Rahangdale. All of them were students of Sawangi Medical College.
The accident occurred on Monday night near the Selsura village of Wardha. The deceased were identified as the final year students - Shubham Jaiswal, Neeraj Chauhan, Pratyush Singh, and Vivek Nandan, first-year students Pawan Shakti and Avishkar Rahangdale and medical intern Nitesh Singh.
The students were going to the nearby town of Deoli from Wardha city, and suddenly they met this unfortunate accident. As per Wardha Superintendent of Police Prashant Holkar, the incident took place at nearly 11:30 pm on Monday, as reported by Scroll.in.
Prime Minister Office has announced a sum of INR 2 lakh each as compensation to the families of the deceased.
PMO India tweet reads, "Pained by the loss of lives due to an accident near Selsura in Maharashtra. In this hour of sadness, my thoughts are with those who have lost their loved ones. I pray that those injured are able to recover soon: PM @narendramodi"
In another tweet, PMO India says, "PM @narendramodi announced that Rs. 2 lakh each from PMNRF would be given to the next of kin of those who have lost their lives in the accident near Selsura. Those who are injured would be given Rs. 50,000."
