Seems like CAT 2014 aspirants will be eligible for 14 (Indian Institutes of Management) IIMs for the current academic session, all thanks to IIM Nagpur. According to latest information, the campus will be set up in the Nagpur, Maharashtra, by next academic year. IIM Nagpur’s campus will be built at Mihan near the airport.

Initially, the institute will begin its operations at Visvesvaraya National Institute of Technology. An amount of Rs 6 lakh per month will be paid by IIM Nagpur to NIT as rent for two buildings, informed an English daily. The ground-breaking ceremony will be done by the Prime Minister of India, Narendera Modi, on January 4, 2014. Apart from IIM, the ceremony will also be conducted for All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) in Mihan.

Although, the land for the new IIM was finalised in November. A land of 293 acres of Maharashtra Airport Development Corporation land at Mouza Dahegaon in the non-SEZ area of Mihan (Multi-modal International Cargo Hub and Airport at Nagpur) was given for setting up the permanent campus for IIM.

Once IIM Nagpur will start its operations, students can apply to 14 IIMs in total.
The other IIMs are Ahmedabad (Gujarat), Bangalore (Karnataka), Calcutta (West Bengal), Lucknow (Uttar Pradesh), Indore (Madhya Pradesh), Shillong (Meghalaya), Kozikode (Kerala), Rohtak (Haryana), Ranchi (Bihar), Tiruchirapalli (TN), Udaipur (Rajasthan), Raipur (Chattisgarh) and Kashipur (Uttarakhand).
