Karnataka PGCET 2026: No Choice Entry in Round 1; What About Round 2?

Candidates participating in Karnataka PGCET 2026 counselling have expressed confusion over post-allotment procedures. Several candidates have raised queries regarding whether they can change their allotted seats or participate in further rounds. In a recent telephonic conversation with KEA helpline representative, the official shared details about the current admission steps while clarifying that no formal instructions have been issued regarding a Karnataka PGCET second round counselling.

Karnataka PGCET 2026 Choice Entry Awaited after Round 1 Allotment
During the telephonic conversation, the KEA official explained that a choice-entry or choice-filling process was not provided for the first round. Instead, the official described the ongoing procedure as a direct admission process for candidates who have been allotted a seat. However, as per the counselling process, candidates should have been allowed to accept/reject seat after first round seat allotment.
According to the response given on the call, candidates who received an allotment in Round 1 must proceed directly with the admission formalities. The steps communicated during the call include:
- Downloading fee payment challan
- Obtaining seat confirmation slip
- Reporting at allotted college
KEA PGCET Counselling 2026: What If Candidates Do Not Want the Allotted College?
During the call, KEA official was asked what steps could be taken if an applicant is not satisfied with the allotted college or wishes to seek an upgrade. In standard counselling processes, choice entry allows candidates to retain a seat while seeking improvement or surrender it for subsequent rounds.
However, the KEA official stated that there is currently no provision or alternative action available for candidates dissatisfied with their allotment. The official advised candidates in this situation to wait for any further instructions, facilities, or announcements published on the official website, cetonline.karnataka.gov.in/kea/pgcet2026.
Will PGCET 2026 Round 2 Counselling Be Held?
When asked by the candidate whether a second round of counselling would be conducted, the helpline official did not confirm Round 2. The official noted that helpline staff have so far received instructions only regarding the first round of admissions. She advised the candidate to track official KEA notifications for any upcoming developments around the counselling process.
