TANCET 2026 Exam Day Guidelines

TANCET 2026 exam for MBA and MCA courses is scheduled to be held tomorrow, May 9, 2026. The Centre for Entrance Examinations, Anna University, will conduct the exam in two separate shifts, with one each for MBA and MCA. TANCET 2026 MCA exam will take place in the morning shift, from 10 AM to 12 NOON. Whereas, the TANCET MBA exam will be conducted in the afternoon shift, taking place from 02:30 PM to 04:30 PM.

TANCET Exam Day Guidelines 2026

Candidates found the TANCET exam day guidelines in the hall ticket. Candidates must reach the exam venue at least one hour before the start time to locate their assigned seating on the notice boards. Test-takers must take their seats inside the exam hall at least 30 minutes before the exam starts. Authorities will not permit any candidate to enter the hall half an hour after the commencement of the test. Additionally, candidates are not allowed to leave the exam hall until the test concludes.

Test-takers must bring a printed copy of their hall ticket along with a valid, original photo ID proof, such as

  • Aadhaar card
  • PAN card
  • Driving license, etc.

TANCET MBA exam has 5 sections. All sections have an equal weightage. With a total of 100 questions, each section has 20 questions in MCQ format.

Some factors that influence TANCET cutoff scores include number of seats, difficulty level of exam, previous cutoff trends, number of test takers, performance of test takers, among other factors.

Q:   Is there any negative marking in TANCET exam?
A: 

Yes, TANCET exam consists of negative marking. For each incorrect response candidates face a penalty of 1/3 mark. Therefore, candidates must avoid guesswork while answering questions in the TANCET exam.

A photocopy of the provided ID card is also required. Candidates must retain the hall ticket securely after the exam, as it is to be produced during the final admission process. To mark the answers in the OMR sheet, only a black ballpoint pen to write and shade the OMR answer sheets. TANCET exam centre will not provide replacement OMR sheets for any errors, therefore, candidates must shade the circles carefully. The exam follows a negative marking scheme, where 0.25 marks will be deducted for every incorrect answer. Candidates must return the OMR answer sheet upon completing the test.

Any kind of electronic devices that could help in communication, such as mobile phones and smartwatches are prohibited inside the test centre. Calculators and log tables are also prohibited inside the TANCET exam hall. Venues do not guarantee storage facilities; therefore, candidates must leave valuables at home or in their vehicles. Candidates can bring a transparent water bottle with all labels removed.
