NMIMS Composite Score Calculation 2026

The selection criteria at NMIMS have undergone significant changes in the last admission cycle. Before the previous exam session, the NMAT score held 60 to 70 per cent weightage in the selection process. However, in the last admission cycle, this was reduced to 20 per cent. Based on what we know so far, the weightage for the NMAT score is expected to remain at a similar level for the current session.

Confirmation on NMIMS Competency Assessment

Candidates have been speculating if NMIMS will roll back to more weightage for NMAT scores in current session.ย However, a recent update on the NMIMS MBA login dashboard indicates that the competency test will continue this year. The notification requires candidates to fill in mandatory application details and complete payments for both the Competency Test and the PI before uploading documents.

Q&A Icon
Commonly asked questions
Q: ย  What is meant by NMAT retake window?
A:
GMAC conducts NMAT with a aspirant-first approach. Candidates can appear for NMAT three times during one exam session. That means, GMAC provides one main attempt and two retake attempts for the NMAT exam. The meaning of retake of the NMAT exam implies that any applicant can attempt the test thrice, including the first attempt. In other words, the process of reappearing for the exam is known as exam retake. Candidates aspiring for a retake attempt have to apply using the NMAT retake window. However, candidates can reappear for the exam, not before 15 days after the first attempt. Similarly, third exam attempt can only be scheduled on a date 15 days after the second attempt for NMAT exam.
Q: ย  What is the procedure to reschedule the NMAT exam?
A:

Candidates can reschedule the NMAT exam via the login dashboard. However, candidates will have to pay a processing fee for the same.

Q: ย  What is the procedure to retake NMAT exam?
A:
Retake option for the NMAT exam is available in the candidate's existing registration account after the first attempt. The option to retake the test is present in the Retake tab in the dashboard of the candidate account. Candidates have to wait 15 days before retaking the NMAT exam again. It is subject to payment of the application fee. Candidates can retake the NMAT exam twice during the test window. That brings total attempts in one exam session to three. To apply for each attempt, candidates have to pay the application cum exam fee. Besides applying for retake, candidates who wish to take only one attempt can also do so. In such cases, the available score will be sent to the selected colleges.

As of now, NMIMS has not informed of any specific changes to the MBA admission process 2026. Until NMIMS releases any specific change, candidates can expect composite score calculation to maintain the same weightage distribution as the previous year. Candidates must prepare for a selection process where the competency test remains the most significant factor. While the institution is expected to release cutoffs soon, nothing can be concluded on the selection process and change to the 209 cutoff score from last year.
