ConQuest 2022: Guwahati Medical College wins the quiz competition
First-time participants-Guwahati Medical College won the quiz with 80 points, and runners-up NUJS 1 got 65 points.
India’s premier national quiz on Constitution, History and Politics, ConQuest returned after a 3-year hiatus owing to the COVID-19 pandemic with a theme to celebrate India at 75.
The Centre for Law and Policy Research organised the Eastern zone final at Kolkata’s Loreto College on Saturday. 40 teams competed in the preliminary round, from which the final six teams- Presidency University, NUJS 1, NUJS 2, NLU Odisha, Guwahati Medical College, and Indian Institute of Foreign Trade battled to qualify from Eastern India.
There were a total of 5 rounds, the teams fought till the last chance to pack in more points. First-time participants-Guwahati Medical College won the quiz with 80 points, and runners-up NUJS 1 got 65 points. Both these teams will be travelling to Bengaluru for the all-India final in December, as reported by The Print.
About ConQuest
Since its first edition in 2016, ConQuest has become the largest quiz and educational activity that celebrates India’s constitutional history and politics.
The quiz is open for undergraduate and graduate students from various disciplines including natural sciences, social sciences, engineering, humanities, and law. M.Phil and PhD students are not allowed to participate, but they can be audience members for their respective regional rounds and/or the National final round.
New Guwahati medical college's infra to develop by Pvt firm
For the first time, the Assam government has collaborated with the private sector for building the infrastructure of the new Guwahati medical college. The state government has recently signed an agreement with Bright Star Investments Pvt. Ltd. for the infrastructure development of the academic block of the second medical college in Guwahati, as reported by East Mojo.
