Dr. Moopen’s Medical College Offers 100% Tuition Fee Waiver for MBBS, Nursing & Pharmacy Students; Scholarships Now Open

The annual scholarship program will benefit 125 students over the next five years, with a yearly financial commitment of INR 3 crore. Each year, the initiative will support 5 MBBS, 10 BSc Nursing, and 10 B.Pharm students
In a landmark initiative to make healthcare education more accessible, Dr. Moopen’s Medical College in Wayanad, Kerala, has announced the launch of the Dr. Moopen’s Legacy Scholarship & Fellowships Programme, offering 100% tuition fee waivers to 25 deserving students each year pursuing MBBS, BSc Nursing, and B.Pharm courses.
This makes it the first private medical college in Kerala to offer full tuition support to meritorious MBBS aspirants, significantly easing the financial burden on students from economically challenged backgrounds.
The annual scholarship program, supported by Dr. Moopen’s Education and Research Foundation (DMERF), will benefit a total of 125 students over the next five years, with a yearly financial commitment of INR 3 crore. Each year, the initiative will support 5 MBBS, 10 BSc Nursing, and 10 B.Pharm students, offering full tuition fee waivers for the duration of their respective academic programs.
For MBBS scholarships, selection will be entirely merit-based, focusing on students with strong academic track records and top NEET scores. BSc Nursing and B.Pharm scholarships will be awarded based on a combination of academic merit and financial need, allowing students from underprivileged backgrounds an opportunity to pursue a professional career in healthcare.
“This programme is rooted in our commitment to social equity and inclusive education,” said Dr. Azad Moopen, Founder & Chairman of Aster DM Healthcare and Managing Trustee of DMERF. “I have met countless students with the talent and drive to become doctors, nurses, or pharmacists, but they often give up on their dreams due to lack of financial support. Through this scholarship, we want to ensure that no deserving student has to abandon their aspirations because of economic hardship—especially in a field as vital as healthcare.”
The scholarship scheme also aims to strengthen the medical and allied health workforce in underserved regions. Dr. Moopen’s Medical College, established in 2012 in a tribal and hilly district of Kerala, was the first private medical college in such a backward region of the state. The institution has since emerged as a sustainable model of medical education, producing over 900 doctors across six batches. The college is supported by a tertiary care hospital, experienced faculty, a high-end academic library, and other infrastructure to support quality education and clinical training.
The official NEET 2025 cutoff is released by NTA along with the NEET 2025 result, which has been released on June 14, 2025. The NEET 2025 cutoff or the qualifying score for each candidate category is mentioned on the NEET 2025 scorecard. The NEET cutoff refers to the minimum score a candidate has to obtain to qualify for the NEET counselling process. The NEET cutoff 2025 decreased from that of last year as the difficulty level of the exam was higher and thenumber of test takers was lower.
NEET 2025 cutoff percentile for general category students is 50th percentile. Based on this, the NEET cutoff score 2025 for the General category is 686-144. The NEET 2025 cutoff for the General category candidates of the Physically Handicapped (PH) or the Persons with Benchmark Disability (PWBD) category candidates is 45 percentile. The subsequent NEET cutoff marks for this category is 143-127. Although the NEET cutoff percentile for the General category has remained the same, the cutoff score reduced from that of last year. This is due to factors such as tougher difficulty level, and lower number of test-takers.
The Dr. Moopen’s Legacy Scholarship & Fellowships Programme is an extension of this vision—ensuring that talent, not wealth, defines who becomes a doctor, nurse, or pharmacist in India. Applications for the 2025–26 academic year are now open, and interested candidates can visit www.dmscholarship.in for eligibility details and application guidelines.
This initiative is expected to attract talented students from across India, especially those who qualify for NEET and are exploring affordable MBBS options.
