Haryana: 51% posts vacant in 5 GMCs, says govt
The Haryana government has said that over 51% of posts are vacant across various categories in the state's 5 government medical colleges. The state government admitted that 4,679 posts are lying vacant against the total of 9047 sanctioned seats. As per the TOI report, a total of 4,679 posts are lying vacant against the total of 9047 sanctioned seats in five government medical colleges, said the government.
Aftab Ahmed had sought details of vacancies existing in medical colleges of Haryana and he asked specifically about the details of vacancies at Shahid Hasan Khan Mewati Government Medical College at Nalhar in Nuh district. He also asked if the doctors posted at Nuh medical colleges were getting special allowances as per the government's guidelines.
Haryana CM Manohar Lal Khattar replied on behalf of home and medical education minister Anil Vij as he was not present in the Assembly. The CM said that the vacant posts will be filled by creating a common cadre of medicos and para medicos in Haryana.
About doctors, he said that the doctors at Nuh' Nalhar Medical College would get arrears of special allowance with effect from August 2022. He said that earlier this allowance was only for doctors but now the state government has decided to give it to other categories of employees too.
