A section of students was not happy with the earlier decision of AIIMS for conducting INI CET 2021 exam on short notice. Students demanded further postponement of INI CET exam, which was scheduled for June 16. Later AIIMS declared the revised date of INI CET 2021, July 22, 2021. Read to know more.

AIIMS will be conducting INI CET 2021 exam on July 22, 2021. Earlier, the exam, scheduled to be held on June 16 was postponed following the Supreme Court's order. Directing AIIMS to postpone the INI CET date 2021 for at least one month, the Court had said that candidates will not be able to appear in the exam as they were doing covid duty and were away from the centre. INI CET candidates also expressed disappointment over the revised date of  INI CET 2021 exam and they were demanding further postponement of the exam date.

INI CET 2021 exam has been deferred twice. The exam was earlier scheduled for May 8 but postponed amid a rising number of daily cases of covid-19 across the country. Along with INI CET 2021 July session, a series of other competitive exams like JEE Main, NEET PG 2021 were also deferred by the respecting exam conducting bodies at that time.

Many of the INI CET candidates believed that the government took the decision in haste and they have not given enough time for the preparation. Taking to Twitter, these students have demanded further postponement of INI CET 2021 dates as giving exams on such short notice will be a tough task for them.

We are involved in covid-19 duty and preparation in 15-20 days will be tough, believed students

As we are involved in covid-19 duty, at least we should have been given one month's time for proper preparation, INI CET candidates believed.

β€œNo one considers the Mental Pressures and battles that doctors preparing for entrance have to go through. You cannot delay the exam, ask us to work and then schedule the exam with a 20-day notice,” one of the students said.

Demanding postponement of the exam, another student said, β€œThey started working at hospitals after the government asked us due to covid surge now INICET Exam is being conducted with 20 days notice. This is complete betrayal.”

One of the students held the opinion that lockdown is still on and covid-19 cases are on the rise in several parts of the country. Conducting INI CET 2021 exam in this situation may put candidates at risk.

A section of the students believed that being involved in covid duty they didn’t get time for preparation and conducting the exam on such a short notice is unfair. Some of the students' reactions on Twitter are as follows:

FAIMA writes a letter to Prime Minister

Federation of All India Medical Association(FAIMA) also supported students' demand for the postponement of INI CET 2021 exam. In a letter dated June 3, 2021 to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, FAIMA had requested to defer the exam date as doctors are involved in covid-19 duty.

"At least one month notice period would have been fair for us. Importantly, many of them are doing duties at different places other than our allocated centres. It's not viable enough to travel to the centres from their workplace when there is a lockdown in most of the states till June 17, 2021," the letter said. It further said that doctors didn't deny covid duty when the government asked them to serve during the pandemic. "When the government of India postponed NEET PG 2021 and asked each one of them to do 100-day duty till August 31, 2021, they didn't take a step back. They joined covid duties in our respective states and other states too," the letter stated.

As per the schedule, AIIMS will release INI CET admit card on July 15, 2021. NBE will declare INI CET result 2021 on July 26, 2021 on its official website. INI CET 2021 paper comprises 200 multiple choice questions and candidates will get 3 hours to answer them. Candidates are advised to check INI CET 2021 pattern to understand the marking system.
