The National Testing Agency (NTA) will conduct NEET 2026 exam on May 3, 2026. Amid ongoing war and tension overseas, the question “is NEET 2026 postponed?” continues to trend across search platforms. Students who are preparing for NEET UG 2026 exam are anxious about the exam centres, especially in centres outside India. Reportedly, many exam centres abroad have been affected due to the ongoing Middle East crisis and war between Israel and Iran. 

No Official Confirmation on NEET 2026 Postponed Yet

As of now, there is no official confirmation from NTA regarding the NEET exam postponed status. The NEET 2026 exam date remains as per the official schedule, i.e. May 3, 2026, and candidates are advised to trust only on verified updates from the NTA official website. The rumours around neet 2026 postponed have created anxiety among over 25 lakhs+ students preparing for the medical entrance exam. However, sources indicate that the exam is expected to be conducted between 2 to 5 PM.

Students cannot do Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) without qualifying the NEET UG exam. Clearing the NEET exam is the minimum eligibility requirement to pursue the MBBS course in India.

The AIIMS accepts NEET scores for admission to the MBBS. Students need to obtain the NEET cut off percentile and scores to get shortlisted for counselling in AIIMS MBBS course. The NEET 2025 cutoff scores for generally category was 686-144. So, a general category student with 550 marks cannot take admissions to AIIMS.

The NEET UG 2026 admit card has not been released yet. The NTA will release NEET admit card or hall ticket around April 29, 2026, that is, four days before the exam.

Alongside exam date concerns, students are waiting for NEET 2026 admit card release date. The admit card is expected to be released a few days before the examination. By this logic, the NEET 2026 admit card will be available online during last week of April 2026. Before the admit card, NTA will release the NEET city intimation slip 2026. This slip informs candidates about the city where their exam centre will be located. This will give ample time to students to plan travel in advance.
