Earlier in February and March, India carried out "Operation Ganga" to evacuate nearly 20,000 nationals who were in Ukraine

Indian Embassy in Kyiv Ukraine has issued an advisory to Indians, including students to leave the country at the earliest. The recent advisory is is the second notification from the Indian Embassy since October 11 when Russia launched the major missile attack on Ukraine.

Indian Embassy in its advisory has cited ‘deteriorating security situation and recent escalation of hostilities’ in Ukraine and in its capital, Kyiv. India has advised its citizens to leave Ukraine "at the earliest".

Earlier in February and March, India carried out "Operation Ganga" to evacuate nearly 20,000 nationals who were in Ukraine, after the war began on February 24. However, as many as 500 Indian citizens are still in Ukraine as they possess "residency permits" because of professional or familial reasons.

The recent advisory reads: “In view of the deteriorating security situation and recent escalation of hostilities across Ukraine, Indian nationals are advised against travelling to Ukraine. Indian citizens, including students, are advised to leave Ukraine at the earliest by available means.”
