A video of a lady PG student of LD hospital was released by an attendant. Now, the Resident Doctors’ Association (RDA) of GMC Srinagar & Associated Hospitals released a statement in support of the lady doctor and said that the doctor is an exemplary student and a dedicated doctor and has gone multiple times out of her way to help patients and the media trial and social abuse is unfair.
The statement reads, “RDA of GMC and Associated hospitals is disheartened by the unfair media trial and social abuse that the doctor of LD hospital has had to face due to sharing of an edited video by some attendant.”
“It is also pertinent to mention that the latest NMC guidelines do mention if a person is misbehaving and abusive, doctors have a right to not treat the patient and can refer them to a different centre. This is a basic right of any doctor to protect and preserve their dignity,” added the statement.
Faizan Peer, the National General Secretary at J&K Students Association tweeted, “A sad incident occurred in LD Hospital where an attendant misbehaved with the PG Student. The said attendant made a video cutting the initial part of the video and made it viral cutting the part where he misbehaved and threatened the PG Student and tried to assault her.”
“I can't imagine what level of psychological impact will this have on this PG students . Hope the authorities and public at large could bring Justice for her,” he said through another tweet.
