Medical colleges can apply for seat increase on NMC's portal till December 23

The Medical Assessment & Rating Board (MARB) of NMC has decided to re-open the online portal from December 15 to December 23 for medical colleges to submit their application forms.

National Medical Commission has issued a public notice for medical colleges looking to submit applications for the establishment of new medical colleges/increase of seats in UG/PG courses for the academic session 2023-24. Through the notice, NMC has notified that it has decided to re-open the online portal from December 15 to December 23 at nmc.org.in.

The official notification reads, "In larger public interest to enable the medical colleges to submit their application forms, the Medical Assessment & Rating Board (MARB) of NMC has decided to re-open the online portal from December 15 to December 23. The online portal can be accessed at website www.nmc.org.in."

The commission has also directed the colleges to submit the following documents along with the application form - Essentiality Certificate, Consent of Affiliation (CoA) in prescribed proforma, details of the hospital, and prescribed fees with GST.

The decision has been taken after the NMC noticed that many medical colleges missed the opportunity to submit the application forms for the 2023-24 academic session. Earlier, the deadline for submission of applications by the applicant medical colleges was August 31 for UG courses and July 20 for PG courses.

"NMC invites applications from various medical colleges for the establishment of new medical colleges and/or increase of seats in UG/PG courses. All the applicant medical colleges are requested to submit their application forms within the indicated timelines.
