All medical students in Haryana have gathered today at the Post Graduate Institute of Medical Science (PGIMS) to participate in a protest against the bond policy for medical admissions.
The Federation of All India Medical Association (FAIMA) called for a protest at the Post Graduate Institute of Medical Science (PGIMS) Rohtak in front of the director's office today. Doctors from all medical colleges in the state have gathered today and demanded to make medical admissions be free of bond policies.
The protest is going on since November 1 against the bond policy and it has been supported by various doctors' associations.
FORDA requests govt to take necessary steps for bond-free medical education
Federation of Resident Doctors Association (FORDA) also released its statement yesterday and requested the Haryana health minister and Chief Minister to take necessary steps in a positive direction.
"The appalling bond policy has been a bone of contention for the aspiring and budding medicos in the state, and they have braved and stood their ground in the face of forced police action and multiple threats from the authorities. So far, despite repeated requests, the state government has not been cooperative and welcoming to a dialogue with the proposed changes in the bond policy and this is highly unacceptable in a democratic society and government which claims to work for the people," reads FORDA statement.
FORDA tweeted, "When ears are DEAF, Voices have to be much LOUDER.” Medical students across Haryana decide to take another leap and escalate their protest against atrocious bond policy : "Aahvaan/आह्वान " Team FORDA stands in full support and solidarity.
"FORDA stands with all the medical colleges of Haryana in this invocation/ आह्वान! Hope the impurities of atrocious bond policy are washed out with this solicitation of the ‘deaf’ Haryana govt not paying any heed to their demands," said another tweet by FORDA.
