The earlier granted 100% preference to state quota candidates for PG medical seats in private colleges during MP NEET PG Counselling has been struck down as per the Madhya Pradesh High Court order, resulting in the open counselling process to all candidates for Madhya Pradesh PG medical admissions.

MP PG medical admission news

The Madhya Pradesh High Court, in a recent judgement, has struck down the provision barring MBBS students from outside the state from seeking admission to postgraduate medical courses in private medical colleges in Madhya Pradesh. The court has clarified that there will be no reservation exceeding the maximum postgraduate courses in private medical colleges, including all categories.

The Madhya Pradesh High Court has declared the state's policy of giving 100% domicile reservation in NEET PG admissions unconstitutional. Cancelling the amendment under the MP Medical Education Admission Rules, 2018, the court has allowed all PG medical aspirants across India to participate in the NEET PG 2025 counselling process in Madhya Pradesh for PG medical admissions in private medical colleges.

The High Court, in its verdict, highlighted that such a preference disobeys admission principles and ignores the Supreme Court's 50% ceiling on overall reservation in the counselling process.

Experts consider that this decision will influence the NEET PG Counselling 2025 procedures nationwide by improving the legal stance against illegitimate state-specific quotas.
